What EI 45 means
The label reads as a measured performance: E is integrity — the door keeps flames and hot gases from passing through; I is insulation — it limits the heat reaching the protected side; and the number is the minutes it holds both in a standard furnace test. EI 45 means 45 minutes.
Where EI 45 is used
An intermediate class specified by some fire-safety designs. The required class for each opening is defined by the building's fire-safety design under the technical regulation approved by Government of Georgia Decree No. 41 — we match the door to the class on your schedule, we do not assign it.
